Thomas R. Weakland serves as Senior Vice President for Ginnie Mae’s Office of Securities Operations. He is responsible for directing and overseeing Ginnie Mae’s day-to-day back office operations, which involves administering over $1.5 trillion in outstanding Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities. In addition, he works very closely with the Offices of Issuer & Portfolio Management, Capital Markets and Enterprise Risk in defining and implementing new business processes that are needed to deliver new Ginnie Mae securitization products to its business partners. Finally, Mr. Weakland is responsible for performing the Executive Sponsor role in directing and implementing new systems and processes at Ginnie Mae.
Mr. Weakland has more than 28 years of experience working for Ginnie Mae. During his career, he has served in numerous capacities: System Accountant; Budget Officer; Director of the Office of Financial Management; Senior Vice President, Office of Program Operations and Acting Executive Vice President.
Mr. Weakland is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Weakland holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University.
