 Deborah Hernandez joined Ginnie Mae as Senior Vice President of Administration in June 2014. In this capacity, she is responsible for managing, overseeing and executing Ginnie Mae’s human resources function, operation management, procurement, communications strategy and corporate legislative policy.
Prior to joining Ginnie Mae, Ms. Hernandez served as the General Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Public and Indian Housing. Ms. Hernandez is a career federal employee with more than 40 years of federal service across the Department of Treasury - Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Veteran Affairs, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She began her federal career as a college intern where she decided to devote her professional life to public service.
Ms. Hernandez has a wealth of experience serving in a variety of positions in the areas of accounting, finance, budget, program oversight, strategic planning, and management. During her tenure at HUD she has served both in the field and at headquarters, managing the Department’s largest rental assistance programs.
Ms. Hernandez received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Roosevelt University. |
