Maren Kasper was named Acting President, EVP and Chief Operations Officer of Ginnie Mae in January 2019. She is responsible for all operations for Ginnie Mae’s $2.0 trillion portfolio of mortgage-backed securities (MBS). In this capacity, Ms. Kasper oversees the fulfillment of Ginnie Mae’s core mission - connecting global bond investors with domestic mortgage borrowers while providing oversight of Ginnie’s MBS issuers. Under her leadership and through the agency’s Ginnie Mae 2020 strategic roadmap, the agency continues to vastly modernize its technology platform, improve its counterparty risk management framework and implement program enhancements to ensure the Ginnie Mae security remains an attractive investment for global investors.
Ms. Kasper joined Ginnie Mae as Executive Vice President in June 2017 and managed all aspects of business and policy development related to Ginnie Mae’s daily operations. Ms. Kasper previously served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Secretary at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She advised the Secretary on a broad range of housing and community development strategic priorities – ranging from housing finance and the securitization market, to public housing and budget initiatives. Prior to joining HUD, Ms. Kasper served as a Director at Roofstock, a real estate tech company. While at the company, she led efforts focused on business development and fund management. Before joining Roofstock, Ms. Kasper worked for Dwell Finance, a Blackstone-owned real estate lender, and Wells Fargo Securities, Equity Research. Ms. Kasper received a B.S. from Cornell University and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.
