Subject: New MBS Pool Stratification Record Data (Record 32) for Opportunity Zones |
I. Purpose Ginnie Mae is enhancing its MBS Disclosure Data by introducing a new Stratification Record (Record Type 32) that provides greater visibility into Opportunity Zone characteristics at the pool level. Opportunity Zones are economically distressed communities, defined by individual census tract, nominated by America's Governors and certified by the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. This enhancement allows investors and stakeholders to better identify and assess mortgage-backed securities with exposure to these designated communities.
II. Background The new Record Type 32 will provide aggregated information on the Number of Loans, Percentage of Loans, Unpaid Principal Balance (UPB), and Percentage of Unpaid Principal Balance (UPB) for pools with loans that are in
Opportunity Zones, economically distressed communities, defined by individual census tract.
